SEPT 12 (NEW SCHEDULE!): Mindfulness Works, a FREE Community Wellness Series

  • Teton County Library 125 Virginian Lane Jackson, WY, 83001 United States (map)

You're invited!

No registration required. Topics are stand-alone—drop in when you can.

This session, FROM THE BODY UP, will be led by BJW trainer KIRSTEN CORBETT, who will explore how attention to physical sensations calms reactivity in the mind.

PLUS: How-to tips and micro-practices you can use at home and work, taught by BJW founder Sara Flitner and Becoming Jackson Whole mindfulness trainers

KIRSTEN CORBETT’s mindfulness and meditation practice dates back, with fits and starts, to her first religious studies graduate class on Zen Buddhism with Dr. Harold Roth at Brown University. Professor Roth began each class with 30 minutes of meditation. That opened up a whole new world of experiential learning for Kirsten and later seeded a more dedicated practice when she became a proud (and somewhat overwhelmed) mom. Since then Kirsten has studied in India, with Mindful Schools, The Mindfulness Teacher Training and Certification and Mentor Program with Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach, and Becoming Jackson Whole's Train the Trainer program supported by Dr. Amishi Jha and Scott Rogers. Kirsten works as the Exhibits & Communications Director at History Jackson Hole and is now training as a coach and facilitator with the Art of Accomplishment.
