Small Acts. Big Impacts.
2021: building on momentum
2020 demanded shifts — many of them quite remarkable — in how we go about day-to-day life. As an organization, Becoming Jackson Whole did some shifting, too. (Read more about that here.) Rather than providing in-person mindfulness training to large groups of people, we turned to digital platforms — email, social media, Zoom — to deliver mindfulness-based tools and resources. We learned a lot about what resonates with the community and what helps ease stress and foster resilience in Jackson Hole.
For 2021, we’ll build on that knowledge by continuing in-demand offerings, sensibly upgrading our design and sophistication, and expanding community engagement. Priorities include:
Honing the skills of our new Mindfulness-Based Attention Training (MBAT) instructors as they teach their peers and colleagues, starting right in their own workplaces. They will also teach a refresher class to MBAT alums, helping local leaders further integrate the skills they learned just before the pandemic hit.
Developing stronger connections with the Latinx community, with Spanish language practices and training.
Growing and refining our most effective community engagement strategies – we plan to deliver 100 Acts of Mindfulness in print, upgrade our email campaigns, expand and enhance our website, and broaden our reach in social media.
Building our capacity to deliver more tools to more people.
We hear how much you like meeting Becoming Jackson Whole in your living room and at your kitchen table, in the car, at your desk. So we’ll keep showing up, using modern technology to deliver ancient practices. (And as soon as it’s safe to do so, we’ll have face-to-face contact, too!)
With gratitude and care,
Sara and the Becoming Jackson Whole team
